Wearing Black in Summer

Black and white Asos pants

Wearing black in Summer might seem like a missed opportunity to get out the floral prints and bright colours, but sometimes you just want to keep it simple. Let’s face it, black will never go out of fashion, whatever the season. The key to making it season-appropriate is to choose light textures that won’t make you feel all hot and bothered.

These Asos trousers are perfect for the warmer months as the material and cut make them light and airy, but not so thin that you can see through them…always a big no-no for me! The detailing down the side breaks up the black and gives them a slightly sporty feel, just don’t expect me to do any running in heels that high! As it was a very warm day I opted for a jersey t-shirt with open shoulders. It’s a casual style so I added a silver and crystal necklace as a focal point…I do love a statement necklace!

Lovely outfit, and what’s wrong with black in the Summer? it’s easy to style and effortlessly glamourous! That necklace is gorgeous too but I have to ask, is that some sort of spoon hanging in the middle? If it is, I love it even more!

Thank you Sarah! I wish it was a spoon…it’d come in very handy at work when I can’t find one to eat my yogurt with! Maybe I’ll launch a new line in jewellery that doubles up as cutlery 🙂
